Oven-Dried Blueberries

My son loves, loves, loves blueberries! He eats anything and everything that contains blueberries, and without fail always ask for more. Seeing as fresh blueberries can tend to get a little messy, I started to give him dried blueberries for a snack.

After reading the nutritional facts one day, and seeing how much added sugar is in a 1/4 cup serving, I was shocked! Not to mention, dried blueberries are super expensive to buy in the store, considering my son could eat the entire bag in one day. So I set out on a mission to make dried blueberries at home, and they turned out perfect!

All you need is a baking sheet, parchment paper, and blueberries! You can also drizzle the blueberries with honey for a little sweetness if you like. My son will eat them anyway they come, so I leave out the honey, but that is just a personal preference.
Place the blueberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 2-3 hours until shriveled but still plump.

These dried blueberries are great by themselves as a quick snack, mixed in with granola, frozen yogurt, Greek yogurt, ice cream, muffins, breakfast breads, pretty much anything!

1 cup blueberries
Honey, to drizzle

Preheat the oven to 225 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Lay the blueberries out on the baking sheet in a single layer, it is ok if some of the berries touch. If desired, lightly drizzle the blueberries with a little but of honey. Bake for 2-3 hours until the berries are shriveled but still plump. Turn the oven off and allow the berries to cool completely in the oven before removing.

The dried blueberries will keep up to 1 month in an airtight container. Enjoy!

Note: Do not place to many berries in the oven at one time, the extra moisture will make it take forever for the berries to dry out!
